Calderdale 1 continued their winning streak on Saturday with a win against Farsley Celtic.
They knew it was going to be a tough one but with 4 wins out of 4 games they were ready for the battle and to continue the season on a high.
Both teams started strong in the first quarter and were head to head all the way through finishing 11-11.
Coach Phil G made an unusual change going into the second quarter moving Roxy, who received player of the match, from their attacking circle to the defending circle. Roxy Rothery now GK and Captain Sophia Boothroyd GD used hassling tactics to try and force errors from Farsleys attack and capitalise on the few missed shots turning the ball over into Calderdale's favour. Calderdale moved into the lead by 4 at half time.
The second half saw great link up play in attack and accurate feeding into the circle from Carolyne Baldwin and Jess Brearley. This, combined with strong movement and precision shooting from Megan Kennedy and Kim Walters, saw Calderdale increase their lead to 39-31.
Farsley came out fighting in the final quarter and upped their game but WD Emma Bullough continued to defend well down court seeing some brilliant interceptions and tips forcing errors in the Farsley Attack.
Despite a strong fight back from Farsley Celtic, Calderdale maintained their momentum in attack and defence, resulting in a 55-46 win.
